President Thein Sein and Suu Kyi reportedly hold emergency meeting in Nay Pyi Taw

Myanmar's President Thein Sein and opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi met at the president's farm house in Nay Pyi Taw on Saturday afternoon, reports say.

Officials from both the President Office and the opposition National League for Democracy (NLD) confirmed the meeting but refused to say what it was about.

"It was true that they held a meeting. But there is no plan to release news about the discussion," Win Myint, Lower House MP and  NLD's spokesman, told The Daily Eleven.

"It's true. The meeting took place at the president's farm house at 3pm. They might have talked about the current political situation. Political affairs are wide-ranging so they also include ethnic and peace issues", an official from the President Office told The Daily Eleven.
